SAP BASIS Principal Consultant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SAP BASIS Principal Consultant to lead SAP BASIS administration, architecture, and technical operations across complex SAP landscapes. The ideal candidate should have extensive expertise in SAP S/4HANA environments, system performance optimization, upgrades, migrations, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP BASIS implementation, administration, upgrade, migration, and support projects
• Manage SAP system installations, patching, kernel upgrades, and transport management
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize SAP landscape availability
• Plan and execute system refreshes, client copies, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams during implementations, upgrades, and go-live activities
• Ensure SAP security, user administration, authorizations, and compliance with best practices
• Mentor junior BASIS consultants and provide technical guidance across projects
• Prepare technical documentation and recommend continuous improvements for SAP infrastructure

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BASIS administration and consulting
• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Net Weaver, HANA Database, and SAP landscape management
• Experience with SAP installations, upgrades, migrations, system copies, and performance tuning
• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud technologies, and high availability/disaster recovery concepts will be an advantage
• SAP BASIS or SAP Technology certifications are preferred
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, leadership, and client-facing communication skills
